  • August 29, 2007 Great Piece for a recital or audition

This is a rather easy piece as far as technique compared to his other works, musically it is somewhat difficult. There are many flourishing runs and bouncing arpeggios that make it a very fun piece to play. I love Jeanjean's works specifically because of this. This is a perfect...

piece for an advancing high school student clarinetist, or anyone that wants to show off to their peers. It makes a great recital opener by the way!

Lots of flexibility in musical expression and very beautiful and fun to play for an advanced player of course.

  • June 20, 2006 Beautiful Clarinet Solo

Arabesques is a difficult, class A, high school solo for clarinet. It's beautiful, but the fast notes are difficult. Most of the piece consists of measures of triplets, but there are sections of extremely fast and difficult notes, up to twelve at a time. Pretty, though.
