Antonio Lauro Works for Guitar, Volume 7

Antonio Lauro Works for Guitar, Volume 7 composed by Antonio Lauro (1917-1986). For Guitar (Classical). Saddle-stitched, Solos. Latin American. Beginning. Book. 24 pages. Published by Caroni Music (MB.C2007).

ISBN 9782843944024. Latin American. 9.13 x 12.25 inches.

Antonio Lauro is one of the most famous composers to come from Venezuela. He has written many works for orchestra, piano, choir, harpsichord, and guitar. He is most well-known for his guitar works, this being his main instrument. The pieces represented in these guitar works are for players at a beginner-intermediate level, and in standard notation only. Continuing the 19th Century tradition of other composers of Venezuelan waltzes, Lauro named many of his pieces after people or places. "Nelly" is a gaita, a dance from the region of Maracaibo in the west of Venezuela and is dedicated to a friend of Lauro.

  • February 02, 2009 Nelly is great

I bought this book because I heard a recording of Nelly by Adam Holzman. It's a beautiful bright piece with wonderful rhythm...and it's not too hard...but not easy either. The book is good quality and nicely put together. The book only has 3 pieces in it...

. It does have bios of Lauro and Alirio Diaz. The bio's are in English, Spanish and French. If you like Lauro, Nelly is a great piece!

  • November 04, 2008 Nelly - A rewarding peice

Nelly by A.Lauro.A delightful and rewarding peice of music. Not difficult to learn but will need some extra practise to get up to speed. I have been playing for some 45 years and consider this one of Mr Lauro's "must have" pieces.
