  • June 02, 2012 Wonderful Collection!

A lively collection of short piano works with a selection of Caribbean flavors. The composer is from the island of Curacao, and these pieces are aptly named for their rhythmic dance styles--for example, the tumba, calypso and waltz are prominent. The waltz "Nostalgia" is my favorite--with a whiff...

of the Caribbean coming through, it is wistfully expressive and the most lyrical of the pieces. Some of the works are deceptively difficult due to the complex rhythms. Highly recommended!

  • March 30, 2012 Worth the price

For me, on a tight budget, this was an expensive purchase, but the music is not available in any cheaper form, and there is nothing else quite like it. It is appropriately compared both in difficulty and flavor to Scott Joplin's rags, but with a Latin flavor. As an...

intermediate-to-advanced player, I could sight read it right away but not as fast as some pieces require. Everything is still andante! I wish all his work were available.

  • November 13, 2008 Challenging and beautiful

I had just heard Muller's music for the first time and had to get the sheet music for myself. It's fun to play and beautiful to listen to.

  • October 03, 2008 Lovely lilting pieces with a lot of flair.

I first heard a couple of the Antillean Dances on the radio. They are immediately likeable, and beautiful short works. The pieces are fairly easy to learn and play. The reason I rated them intermediate/advanced instead of intermediate is because they require a more advanced rhythmic sophistication.
