  • March 28, 2008 Really fun to play

I have a tendency to work on one difficult (grades 6,7) piece at a time, and it takes me months to put one together. It's fun and satisfying when it finally gets there, but I wanted to find something that I could work through in a much shorter...

time span as well. This collection fits perfectly. The pieces are pretty easy to slog through on a first read, and will probably not take much time to work up to speed, but they sound great. Ms. Roubos seems to have a knack for writing not-too-difficult music that is still interesting and pleasant to listen to in its own right. I'll definitely be giving her other collections a try. This collection has a distinctly Native American and Western feel to it mixed throughout (to my ears, anyway). If that sounds at all interesting to you, then I think this is definitely worth the price!
