  • December 07, 2012 A Little Simple, Improvisation Needed

    My students love having me accompany them on the piano, but I like the accompaniments for Solos and Etudes by Frost much better than these ones. I think Frost was trying to make them easy for if you are a violin teacher with not a whole lot of piano skills...

    , but I find them a bit simple and prefer improvising and adding more color. Also FYI, the piano part only includes the violin part above it, not the viola, cello, or bass. It is not a huge issue, but usually the other instruments are in different octaves and sometimes switch octaves in different places than the violin part.
