Alfred's Teach Yourself To Play Piano - CD-ROM (Everything you need to know to start playing now!). Composed by Morton Manus, Willard A. Palmer, and Thomas Palmer. For piano (or keyboard). This edition: Boxed Edition. Keyboard/Piano; Method/Instruction. Teach Yourself Series. Learn To Play. Beginner. CD-ROM (Windows and Mac). Published by Alfred Music (AP.17147).

ISBN 0739007122. Learn To Play. 9x12 inches.

This easy-to-use CD-ROM uses the same great step-by-step approach as the best-selling book in a fun, interactive audio/visual format. Beginners of all ages will learn the notes on the entire keyboard, how to form the most important scales and chords, all the basic rhythms, and how to play expressively with feeling. Exercises and finger aerobics reinforce technique as you follow along with music right on your screen. The interactive song player lets you see how the music should be played, change tempos, adjust audio levels, and record your performance! Works with Windows and Macintosh systems.

I am returning to piano after 30 years. I liked the song choices for adults. They move up slowly in terms of actual difficulty, yet create music that is not overly simple. I found myself practicing at just the right level and got skills back quickly.

This software program is very similar to the CD that accompanies the Alfred's Teach Yourself to Play Piano Book. Only one point of dissatisfaction for me -- the CD that comes with book has very similar contents to the material in this software package. The software package adds video instruction...

and some interactive games -- the interactive song player (which is what's important) is pretty much the same for both products.
