  • June 21, 2010 Good for Beginners

I found the material in the book to be good insofar as the steps taken to get the reader to play on a higher level. Some parts of the book were still confusing (such as explaining characteristics of two handed play). The book is working for me because I am...

using it ALONG with a piano instructor. He explains the parts that are foggy in the book. I'm certain my success would not have been as good with the book alone.

This program is so much fun. Even the basic music makes you sound great. I learned so much faster and it really helped with the timing.I am now ordering the second volume now.

  • February 13, 2008 Great Refresher Book

I have not touched a piano in 20 years so Alfred's Teach Yourself To Play Piano Book was a great refresher for me. I started out slow and have worked myself back up to where I was when I quit taking piano lessons 48 years ago.Montgomery

  • February 06, 2008 Great book, the best for beginners, but the cd...

This is the best book I've seen for beginners. Great explanations and good songs. But the cd is not so great. I think that a cd for a book like that has to contain the songs as they are written on the book, and the problem is that in...

the cd, the songs are played with the piano and other instruments, so sometimes is difficult to listen some parts of the song.

  • August 15, 2007 Something Is Missing

This book is an okay book. It doesn't give you much to practice on while learning the skills. And there is nothing here that helps you with sight reading or learning to read 2 staves at the same time. Sooo IDK...just feels like it needs more to be...

    complete.
