  • January 17, 2009 Very Easy - for new beginner only

I too was disappointed with this book because about a third of it is pre-staff notation. However, a beginning child can play these almost from the very first lesson. So if you are just starting out it would be perfect, but if you are a level 1 player looking...

for more practice, it is way too easy.

  • May 18, 2007 As an adult 1A /B I was disappointed

I prefer the pieces in the regular lesson and "Fun" books. I ordered this and the 1B Top Hits! book thinking it would be fun to play "real" songs. I find the pieces unsatisfying-prehaps over adapted. Please try to look at these books before buying to make sure they...

    will please you.

  • August 12, 2004 Some pieces are abridged

This book has great titles, such as Happy Days, Mickey Mouse March, and My Heart Will Go On. And, it's very easy, which can be very motivating for budding musicians. The only thing to consider is that the songs are abridged, and so some students may be disappointed that...

they aren't playing the whole song. But, it's still a great beginning book. I would recommend it for ages 6 to 8.
