  • May 29, 2011 A good book for serious students

I'm an Intermidiate/Advanced player who is currently almost finished with this book. I recommend the entire series. Be warned that this book is for determined students who take piano somewhat seriously. Otherwise, it has a wide variety of music. Take the SMP level with a grain of salt...

. " Fur Elise" is placed as a SMP 5 in this book. This book is a bit beyond the intermidiate level.

  • January 15, 2008 The end of piano...more or less.

This book is really for those who are ending their private lessons and beginning with more complex materials, such as more advanced Mozart and Beethoven. Actually, the entire level is meant to be just that. I speak as a pianist who played from this book, and it prepares students for...

what they want to know if they are persuing a career in piano or if they wish to find a final spot to end their lessons.

  • November 05, 2003 A very challenging book

This book is only for SERIOUS students. Those whom I have taught have enjoyed "Variations on the Celebrated Canon in D", "Fascination", "Jazz Ostinato", "Dry Bones", and ,(not surprisingly) the original, unabridged "Fur Elise". There are many musical styles represented here, and it's a good value. I would describe...

the level as Late intermediate-Early Advanced. I recommend it for ages 12-13, and up.
