Composed by Drake Mabry. Baroque,Contemporary,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 18 pages. Drake Mabry #2014025. Published by Drake Mabry (A0.799293).

The inspiration for these Five Meditations on the text Agnus Dei comes from the Sinfonia to Bach’s Cantata No. 4. As a result they are a combination of reflections on the music from the Cantata along with the text for the Agnus Dei. The writing for choir is spatial, delicate and intimate. Dynamics are left to a minimum enabling every choir to shape and fashion their own interpretation of this piece. This work is dedicated to the choral conductor Marianne Guengard.

Agnus Dei was premiered by the Ensemble Vocal Opus 86 conducted by Marianne Guengard at the Abbaye Fontaine le Comte, France on December 11, 2011.
