I like to play every few months at a local nursing home. As the baby boomers need nursing care, they appreciate music that's easy on the ears but comes from more recent decades. I've used most of these songs in my concerts. I have yet to find a...

CD player that can play only one channel and not play the melody track. What I have done instead is play louder than the bell tones. The music itself is quite playable, good for the beginner. Once I learned the music, I was able to improvise to make it even more enjoyable. The cost is reasonable. I recommend it for the violinist who wants to do fun stuff but doesn't yet belong to a band. Cannot totally remove melody line in most songs and in some, it's so strong, it ruins the whole effect of playing a beautiful ballad. Nice music but that melody line tends to bust it for me.

This music/CD is just what I was looking for. I started playing the violin at age 8 and played all through high school. Many years later, I still enjoy playing but I'm not really interested in concertos, fugues, or symphony music. The selections are exactly what I was...

looking for. The first night I got the music, I played for over an hour. What a blast!
