Sang this recently in a choral festival to resounding audience appreciation. An exceptional piece of music and fun to learn and perform.

  • July 17, 2008 really jazzy

jazzy, swing and blues in one mass, new style never heard, sounds great for young people, wakes up the 'sleeping church of Belgium', amazing piano accompaniment, ...: all reactions at the wedding mass of Eef en Bram, where Eufonia sung 'A little Jazz Mass'. 'I wanted to dance' said granny (92...

years old). The girls of Eufonia love to sing it at many occasions. Really jazzy, a must for all youth choirs!

  • January 02, 2008 Good, but tough

As long as you like your mass in Latin, and you have good, competent singers, this mass setting will work for you. There are no instrument parts, so if you want to add sax or guitar, you're on your own. The melodies are haunting, and really fit the text...

(as long as you know the translation, heh, heh). Harmonies are close, and piano gives no help to vocal, but the end result is beautiful.

  • July 10, 2007 Fascinating and different

If you're looking for something a little different but still very well-written for your church choir, this might be it. It's never trite but is very catchy. My choir loved it!
