A Gaelic Overture

A Gaelic Overture composed by David O'Fallon. Orchestra. SmartMusic; String Orchestra. String Orchestra. Form: Overture. Conductor Score & Parts. 124 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.18859).

Using the old hymn tune "St.Patrick's Breastplate" and an original jig (introduced by solo violin), David O'Fallon has fashioned a piece of extreme beauty and intense energy. Full of special effects, foot stomping and modern harmonies, this exciting selection pays tribute to the Irish in a most unique way. A Gaelic Overture is an outstanding and highly creative work for the more advanced orchestra. This title is available in SmartMusic.

  • March 18, 2006 Joyous Irish melodies!

This is a tough piece to play and I would suggest it for an advanced middle school group of 7th and 8th graders. If you can pull it off though your sure to please the crowd with its fancy jigs, traditional, giddy, irish melodies and a some extreme energy. This...

piece has something everyone will love! I would most certainly recomend this piece!
