Decades before The Supremes, The Andrews Sisters were the girl group par excellence. Consisting of sisters LaVerne, Maxene and Patricia, the trio sang in close, powerful harmony, and were among the first artists to shift the emphasis from the band to the vocalist. They performed with nearly all of the major bands of the day, and between 1937 and 1950 they netted an impressive string of hits.
