Crooner Perry Como sold so many records in his long career that eventually he asked his record company to stop certifying his gold albums. In fact, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact number of albums he sold because he very humbly ignored and supressed his sales reports. One gold record we are sure about, though, is his 1957 hit Catch A Falling Star, which was the first single ever to achieve gold record status.         Same ol' same ol' same.

        Like others, I too would like to see a disc with titles that depart from Perry's novelty songs, pieces that he himself didn't care for; however the tiny minds of that time did, and that's what sold. Why not "Begin the Beguine", "Bridge over troubled waters", and "Till the end...

        Wish you could get "Wanted", "Tina Marie", "Forever and Ever", and "Dreamer's Holiday", too!
