British balladeer Engelbert Humperdinck scored his first hit in 1967 with Release Me, a song that was written by Eddie Miller in 1946 but took more than twenty years to become a worldwide hit. Although radio lost interest in his style of music as years progressed, he continued to tour extensively and release albums at an impressive rate.
