Beautiful and meaningful piece.
I found this enjoyable to play. The key change to 6 flats at the end was challenging though.

Nice arrangement
I purchased this to sing at a wedding. I am a first soprano with decent range and found it easy to sing. The key changes to six flats near the end but the pianist creatively ended the song at that point and it worked great. It was just the dramatic repeat of the chorus and we didn't need that for the wedding anyway.

I've always loved hearing this piece sung but I found the chord changes difficult to play at first, me being mostly self-taught pianist enjoy a bit of a challenge, I like the arrangment alot and with practice am finding it less difficult.

GRADUATION SONG!!!!!
When I finished my DIPLOMA IN SPECIAL EDUCATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BAGUIO ON OCTOBER 2008, THIS WAS OUR GRADUATION SONG DURING OUR BACCALAUREATE SERVICE. MANY OF US CRIED A BUCKETFUL. When I was tasked to prepare our BACCALAUREATE SERVICE here at Benguet State University, I also used this song and modified the presentation a bit. When it was sung during the recessional, we highlighted it by asking the graduates to give their parents surprise gifts (personalized card, flower, candle - anything symbolizing their gratitude). We did this twice and most of the graduates and parents thank us for doing so. JOSH, thanks for the song.

You Raise Me Up
This also is a beautiful song. I wanted this for a solo piece. I am a soprano, but this song is difficult to sing as a solo because the voice range goes way to high (high B). Not too mancy amateur singers sing that high. I would have liked a version more simple and easier to sing.

A bit of a challenge...
This is one of the songs my son really wanted to get to learn how to play on the piano..I got it for him for Christmas...It is a challenge which is good for him. He is teaching himself so it is a bit harder for him but he needs to be challenged as well...

OK
Key Too high - wish it had been in a lower key. Can't read music - need more information for those of us that are just looking for music for a pianist to play for a soloist who can't read music. Please recommend this title in a lower key.

"You Raise Me Up"
I purchased this piece in hopes that I might be able to use it in a church setting, having heard it sung on a Celtic Woman concert. However, the modulations quickly took it out of my range, so it never got sung.

Very well written music that is quite easy to play, although it becomes a little more complex on the final two pages when it switches to the key of G Flat. Sounds beautiful and I certainly recommend it.

Lovely Arrangement but a bit challenging!
This is a lovely arrangement, but it is certainly not for a beginner. I would rate it as fairly advanced. I'm really going to have to work on the last 2 pages. If you aren't comfortable playing 6 flats, get another version.

Great Sheet Music
If you are a fan of Josh Groban, or just like this song, this is definitely worth picking up. The arrangement for the piano sounds great, and complements the vocals well. The piano definitely supports the vocals without overwhelming or conflicting too harshly with them. I would have preferred if the vocal melody wasn't a part of the piano, but that rarely happens.

I love this piece, but not being an accomplished pianist, I find the last section very challening. The chord structure for me on this portion is a learning experience. I can hardly wait till I get it down so I can sing it in church. The words are simple yet profound.

You Raise Me Up
I gave this sheet music as a gift to a friend at the church I attend. I first heard this song with my mother (who was dying) on a PBS special. She was so moved by it that she had tears in her eyes and she said, "Oh please sing it again." We had this song at her funeral. Many of her friends at the church she attended were moved and even commented on the words of the song. Children of God know that he raises us up to be more than we can be, this song just reminds us of that when we forget. I think this is my second favorite song, my first being Amazing Grace.

Beautiful but VERY high
The beginning is simple but then the last two pages it gets 6 flats and is more grandiose. The music is beautiful, but you need a high voice range. It hits a lot of high F's & G's and one B. I would have given a higher rating, but I can't sing that high!

Great Arrangements, Great Service
I've always loved the music of Josh Groban, and especially "You Raise Me Up". I also ordered "The Prayer". As a Pianist and Organist, I needed some newer, more "now" sheet music for Weddings and other events, and searched unsuccessfully for these pieces, when I was told by a salesclerk at a national chain music store about sheetmusicplus.com. I've now found a virtual goldmine of all kinds of sheet music, music books, CD's, etc. which will meet all my needs for both Church and secular music performance. And the arrangements of these songs so closely sound like the original recording! The service was excellent and I received my order quickly. I've been telling my musician friends about the site and highly recommend it!

This is a great song. It is inspirational but not easy. I am a tenor using this song to use the whole range and come up to the new standard. I admire Josh Groban and consider him today's Mrio Lanza, Caruso. You gotta love him. The music is exceptional in quality and standard.

Josh Groban has quite a wide range and does not mind challenging others to match him. I found the highs delightful and the lows satisfying. An insightful, moving piece that uses as much of the tenor range as it can.

Fun to Play
This is a fun song to play. Just know that the end goes into 6 flats. It's hard. But you can get the hang of it. Also, if you're going to sing it you need to be a soprano because it goes really high especially towards the end. I think it goes up to the "B" two octives above middle C. I would recommend it.

I love this sheet music and, by the way, it is better than the version that is included in the songbook for the CD. This song rocks. I found it easier than I initially thought it to be. The ending was harder for me since every note is flat. (By the way, there are 3 key changes in this song.) Other than that, it sounds beautiful and sounds just like the radio version. If you know someone that likes to sing, have them sing while you play. You will be amazed at the outcome.

Beautiful, amazing, and powerful
Josh Groban truly makes his songs beautiful, amazing, and powerful. I think they will always be that way. If you're a person that likes that kind of music, (and is somewhat a person who likes christian music) should et this song.

at first glance...
just thought i'd tell everyone that i have "closer"...the entire book of songs and from looking at the first page of this arrangement, the arrangement in the book is MUCH better. but if you only want one song, instead of the whole book, this will suffice.

Powerful and Deep
Josh Groban really captures the spirit in this song. He puts into words what others can only feel. The first time I heard this song, I was floored by the lyrics. Every one in a tough situation needs to hear this song and even just a normal person would enjoy it too. I know I did.

My mom was our best friend, and we lost her July 18th. My sister and I sang this beautiful song at her funnel. Every one there joined in. It was a very powerful day hearing everyone sing this to my mom. Thank you Josh… You are the grates Love always Tanya King 12-25-05

beautiful
I sang this with my eighth grade school chorus, at first when we heard it on the piano it was a beautiful song but once we could all get past that key change at the same time( got me every time :))It gave me goosebumps and really showed off everyone's talent(even the accompianist)Best song in the concert! I like this song on piano with 3-part harmony, even leave out the vocals :)(great song for me as an alto, easy for me to sing but not as a soprano)

A joy!
This song was a joy to learn. I learned it on flute, piano, and voice, and for all three its wonderful. The song makes you feel great about everything and is enough of a challenge to make it fun to learn.

Made me cry!!
I really love this song. my grade-school choir (ages 8 to 14) sang it many times, and every time, at least 10 people were crying!! We all loved this song. I don't know how hard it is to play, (I haven't played piano in 5 years) but if you have a good choir director, this song is really easy to learn to sing, and the results are wonderful!! This is one of the best songs ever written!!!

i love it!
This is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard and it's even better when played on the piano. It's pretty easy in the beginning but the key change is slightly more difficult towards the end. It's so worth getting!

Perfect
This song is perfect for anything you're doing. I rate it advanced because the music is able to capture one and send a message of hop across too. It's perfect

magnificent!
This song made feel I wanted to cry because it summarized how the Lord, Our Father takes care of us, even in our sinfulness. This we emulate as fathers in our own way to our kids. Very inspiring!

Encouraging
The first time I heard this piece, I thought of how God comforts me when I'm "down and weary." This is a great song that has been a real encouragement to me. Great job, Josh!

Great song but gets tough
It's obvious that it's a good song. On piano, it is also pretty good. However, it is not simple. Towards the end of the piece, there are six flats and octave chords. If you can handle that, I'd recommend it.

Speechless!
This song totally embraces me everytime I hear it. It's one of the most awe inspiring songs I've ever heard. Josh is the equivalent of Enya, with his mesmerizing, angelic voice. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it. This song would be appropriate for weddings, funerals, anniversaries...whatever! I love it. Keep up the good work, Josh! God Bless.

Impressive
This piece of music is great for any tenors/baritones who really want to work on stretching their range - hitting the B flat is quite difficult. Not only is this song amazing and beautiful, but it has also been great for getting me more comfortable with the high notes of my range.

so emotional
This song evokes so many emotions. At one moment you're happy and then you're sad. It also allows you to feel vulnerable, yet strong at the same time. Unfortunately, I don't sing nor know anyone who can sing well so I like to play it simply as an instrumental. The piano bass notes sound so good on this piece. As I'm playing I can picture a string accompaniment in the background. Any quartets out there? This would be a great buy.

skill and skill alone
This song as written in its original key is phenomenal. The talent that Josh possesses to be able to slide seamlessly in and out of head-voice is rare. He also uses vibrato as a tool to add slight color to certain pitches. The song is good for all occasions, weddings, funerals, secular and sacred concerts. Hurrah Josh, keep up the good work

Good arrangement
The song sounds so familiar. (with strains of both "Danny Boy" and, less profoundly, "Wind Beneath My Wings" in the tune.) The simple, Psalm-like text is appropriate for both sacred and secular. Singers need to be able to hit a high A flat (and even B flat at one point) comfortably. A screeching, vibrato-laden treatment by the church choir soprano will kill it. A gentler interpretation will be quite meaningful.

Very Touching
I have only heard it on radio. I want to get the sheet music to give to the perso who will sing at my Dad's funeral. He is 90 years old, in a coma, and is expected to die at any time. the song speaks volumes of the way he lived and became successful for a very hard, humble beginnig
