You Raise Me Up.
A song with a contemparary touch. I knew the melody, but the SATB arrangement is just above par. Easy to pickup but, take care of its synchopated notes and offbeats. once, you loose those, you miss the charm of the song. Good for a small (8- 25 member) choir. Lovely piece.

You Raise Me Up
there are lots of tricky syncopated rhythms in this piece but the actual part work is fairly easy. Each repetition of the verses is half step higher. My students were able to sing the whole piece, with words, accurately at the first practice.

Much enjoyed by the choir
This is a simple, uncomplicated arrangement of You Raise Me Up. The accompaniment is a little thin, but the chorus parts make up for it. The choir enjoyed singing this anthem without having to work hard.

A perfect range. My daughter sang this in church and in a talent show. She got only praise.

Enjoyed by all!
This song was the last piece sung at a recent choir concert - very few dry eyes in the place! Our 20 member choir (small country church)loved this piece. Although the syncopation was difficult at first it was easily learned and a joy to sing.

Acceptable arrangement with potential to be better
It caught the intro and feel of the Josh Grobin version pretty well. But the harmony didn't feel like it consistently worked. e.g. It kept feeling awkward where the Sopranos take the melody down a 3rd to harmonize over the TB. And we ended up changing the inner voices of the final chord, because what was written just wouldn't gel -- I couldn't make the arranger's vision work for us there.

" It Raised Me Up "
The words cannot describe the incredible feeling I got from singing this piece of music!! It's well written for intermediate and advanced vocalists. And it helps to have other pieces of works that Josh Groban sings too. I sang this piece at a special church service, to a packed house.

Powerful
I would recommend this powerful song to choirs. Preferably in four parts as it definitely needs the tenor/base section. In other words it needs the men singing.Would also be very good as a solo, but once again with a man singing. It is very popular and most choirs I know seem to have copies.

Enjoyed By All
The choir loved singing this - and the audience really appreciated it. For me this was the highlight of a recent Choir Concert. As others have said the syncopation in the verse is a challenge - but it CAN be done, and is worth the effort.

Beautiful Arrangement
The overall harmonies of this arrangement are very good; the only place I was disappointed was the ending which was somewhat abrupt.

Wonderful arrangement
This arrangement, unlike so many choral adaptations, closely replicates the nuances of the original artist's performance. All choral parts contribute to the whole in an interesting fashion. Not surprisingly, my choir loves it!

You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban - SATB
A beautiful arrangement. Looking forward to using this arrangement for harmony singing, since I have only heard it so far as a solo.

nice but too syncopated wording
The harmony at the chorus was nice but in trying to introduce the song to the choir, the verses were too syncopated and almost impossible to do as a group. The verses would have to be done either solo voice or re-written without so much syncopation. The syncopation killed what would otherwise be a nice arrangement. My recommendation would be to have soloist do the verses and choir do the refrain. Then this is a very doable arrangement.

Effective and MOVING !
We did this in church on Mother's Day and it was very effective with only 12 in the choir. I recommend this highly for a group who can put in the dynamics by feeling, rather than "notation". This will be one of our favorites to perform and a frequently requested piece in the future.
