Fantastic!
I got this book because I was intrigued by the piano part for Selfless Cold & Composed. Almost spot on in terms of transcription although a couple of notes in the chord structure of the first few measures were off. I solved the problem of having to turn pages quickly because of the page being taken up by the other instruments, by copying the score, cutting out the piano parts, repasting it and copying a fresh copy of the piano part only. Saves a lot of frustration!

A great challenge!
I am in LOVE with this CD, so I was ecstatic to find the songbook for a reasonable price! The music is HARD, make no mistake about it, but it's definitely worth it. The songs are transcribed very well and I'm looking forward to being to play them.. someday after a lot of practice!

Amazing
This is amazing book. I don't know what people are talking about when they give this a one or two star review. I have found a couple little mistakes, but nothing huge. There aren't words to Cigarette, but the song is short, and they are easy enough to figure out by yourself. I would reccommend this book to anyone who likes Ben Folds (and if you don't, you clearly don't like good music)

Good Lord.
To get the skinny on some of his tougher riffs, I'd go ahead and nab Ben Fold's Signature Licks as well, but this is an amazing, dead-on transcription. Challenging, to be sure, but in the end, well worth the effort required to utterly master this book.

Ben himself would be proud
This book is 100 percent accurate.Mind you that there is a cost for this book being so accurate. The piano is unbelievably brutal. especially "One Angry Dwarf" and "Song for the Dumped". But with lots of practice and devotion you'll get them.

Oustanding book
Brilliant, absoloutly brilliant book. Perfectly transcribed and great for bands to cover. Hard in some places but can be mastered with practice. No lyrics printed for cigarette but this is irrelevant compared to the sheer greatness of this book. A must buy. BFF just totally rule. :)

Acurate Transcriptions
This book was everything I hoped it would be as far as accuracy in the transcriptions. Songs like One Angry Dwarf, cigarette, brick, missing the war, and evaporated are all great songs for solo piano players. The other songs in this book aren't really meant to be played alone, so unless you're playing with a band this book is really only worth it for the few songs mentioned. Timing and rythym is the main difficulty in mastering most of these songs, especially when trying to sing along. One angry Dwarf is the main reason I bought this book, and I think it is by far the most fun song to play.

THIS BOOK ROCKS
Ok so first of all, it has the piano writen out ****perfectly**** and the lyrics are perfect (so far). The only real problem with the book is that the guitar chords are just writen above the piano... they have no rhythem and u have to kinda guess when they come in. But the book is amazing and the guitar is easily playable b/c there is a diagram which shows how to play all them. NOTE~ this review was meant for the guitarists

Beautiful Transcription!
Wow. I have been playing the piano for 8 years, and this is not as hard as others say. Once you get how to do the codas, its not hard. You might want a copy of the CD to listen for accuracy, as there are a few mistakes and confusing parts. A definate must-have for a band, or anyone who plays an instrument who likes BFF.

Not for Beginners
I got this book along with the 'BF5 Signature Riffs' book, and I must admit, it's a better idea to get the riff book when buying any of BF5's transcribed scores since that book comes with a CD and the book has larger notes. But, this book alone is perfect for experienced players. I myself have been playing for about 10 years, but now i mostly teach myself. It's hard to break down the rhythm without a piano teacher, but it can be done. The only drawback is that the book doesn't like to stay open and since it includes the drum and bass notation, you constantly have to turn the page to see the next piano line. That's really frustrating.

Too many mistakes
I have all three of the BFF books, and this one was the worst in transribing. The whole end of Fair was left off, lyrics were wrong, and it just seemed unpolished in comparison to the other two. It is still a good book though, an if you know the songs, you can fill in or fix the parts that are off.

Great For Pianists/Keyboardists
I've been playing piano for 34 years and have a pretty good ear. But this book definitely helped me pick out some of the subleties I was missing. Also, the transcription of the piano solos in "Song For The Dumped" and "One Angry Dwarf" are *absolutely* note perfect. Highly recommended to any pianist or band.

Ten Fold Fun!
Ok, a very good and often highly accurate book. Very little here that can't be found through good hard practice. Bad points: Often lyrics are incorrectly made out, or missed out completely. Key lines (like the string section in 'Selfless..') are missed out. There's no personal (anyone will do) notes to aid practice, like there usually is in classical music books. Rythms are deceptively easy: Sightreading out the chords, then copying the rythm from the album is far easier than counting out the time from the page. Also, dissappointment strikes, when you find out many piano lines (on the album) have been dubbed... oh well.

great book for bands
my band and i did a cover of "steven's last night in town" at our first gig, and it was awesome. This book is ideal for bands, but it's also ok if you're a just getting into piano. i've played for six years, and but i'd say that some beginners and definitely any intermediate pianists would be able to tackle any song in the book.

Splendiferous!
An excellent transcription. Great fun to play and learn. Ben Folds Five rock and this is a must for any fan. However, there are one or two mistakes and the lyrics from "Cigarette" are missing.

Ben Folds Five
This book is hard if you haven't studied piano for a while... big chords, though I suppose that Mr. Folds did multi-track recording... awesome mix of jazz, indie rock and alternative.

Ben Folds Five
This is an excellent book of music...especially if you play other instruments besides the piano. It helps to have the CD because following some of the codas and repeats can be difficult. Overall, I really enjoy this book...it makes practicing fun for me.

Whatever !
First of all this band really is really the best and now you can have the sheet music for it! I needed Kate for my band, but the other songs are also really cool too.

Great stuff
Perhaps a little intimidating for beginners, this book is one of the most detailed transcriptions of any artist i've ever seen. As someone who transcribes music it was great to see if i was any close =0)

Piano player, get this now!
If you play piano, and you like rock, this is THE band. This is it. The transcriptions are nearly perfect, and if you can learn to play this stuff, people will think you are amazing! (Which you very well might be, if you can play all this stuff.) Best band currently in existence.

Great Band - Great Score
I'm a brazilian BFF fan and also a pianist, and this book was really helpful for me to understand most of Ben's hard piano parts. It has also great bass and drums transcriptions. It's a little confusing, but if you intend to practice (a lot) and play the songs (great songs, by the way) with your own band, this book's what you'll need.

Whatever and Ever Amen
This is a great book of music by a great group. It's cool that you get the music for all the instruments so you can play along with other people. If you like it you should get their other stuff because it's all amazing.
