It's a classic

This book is awesome. If you want to play like Toni Iommi definitely get this book, it really breaks down everything he does on the record and all the solos are there. N.I.B., Faeries Wear Boots, and Sweet Leaf are really fun to play.

Black Sabbath baby

this book is very great. but it still has a little bugs in the lyrics. but 99.5% accuate with the lead guitar. great Tony Iommi and John "Ozzy" Osbourne music. I have only played guitar for six months and i know 99.9% of the songs very well. so if you are a begginer guitarist this is the book to get.

serves it's purpose

Not completely identical to the recorded versions, but still worthwhile to a beginner looking to play Sabbath.

Regarding "correctness" of tabs....

Technically, the notes transcribed in this book are correct, but as others have noted, Tommy Iommi tends to play his power chords with the root on the low E rather than on the A string as noted in the transcriptions for, say, Iron Man. Additionally, some parts are tabbed inefficiently; yes, they're the correct notes, but there are better ways to play them. The intro to Paranoid is a perfect example. That said, since most bedroom riff monsters' Korean guitars have bad intonation above the 8th fret, maybe it's better that they play Sabbath as tabbed in this book. FYI, Guitar World had a great piece on how Iommi, Rhoads, and Wylde all play the main Paranoid riff in different positions. So don't live by the tab; use your ears and be creative.

Not correct

If you have ever seen Tony Iommi's lesson tape or read his sections in Guitar world, you will see that these tabs are wrong. It is one of many publications that is not correct. Anthology is a little better but still not completely correct.

Almost but not quite

This book is really an ideal book to introduce the wonderful world of Iommi and Sabbath's musical style/influence...but nothing more. Most transcriptions were correctly noted, exception for "Children of the Grave" which utilizes C# tuning and not the standard as indicated It will give the basic idea and feel for the songs...but for true Iommi freaks and followers of his style...there are better transcriptions that flow better and carry the darker sound of Iommi's guitar licks
