VERACINI: Four Sonatas for Flute, Alto/Treble Recorder or Violin with Harpsichord by Francesco Maria Veracini (1690-1768). For flute. Instrumental Solo Part and CD. Published by Music Minus One (MO.MMOCD3370).
ISBN 1596153431.
This collection of four sonatas show Veracini at his finest. A pleasure for any flutist who loves things Baroque (and can also be performed on recorder or violin).
Includes a printed solo part printed on high-quality ivory paper, and a compact disc containing a complete reference recording in stereo, with soloist; then a second version in digitally mastered stereo of the orchestral accompaniment, minus the soloist.

No Harpsichord Part with this Edition
Read the description of this edition carefully. It is described as "with Harpsichord" but, in fact, has no harpsichord sheet music. Only a synthesized accompaniment CD is provided and, therefore, this edition is not useable for ensemble performance.

The pieces range in difficulty from medium-easy to medium-difficult, so I could start playing with the recording right away while working...

From the other side of the pond
This title, and the four Sonatas it contains, are a very good choice: one can get into the feeling of this important Baroque composer, Veracini. He was a recorder player, and his music is therefore particularly suitable to this instrument. Good teaching tool. I also liked the harpsichord basso continuo:...
