romantic take on baroque
This is Busoni's version, not in any sense an urtext of the Bach original. It is therefore to be taken as a particular age's interpretation of this music -- thus, a good introduction to Romantic virtuosity, and a stage in the reception of Baroque. Get a good "straight" edition too,...

Worst Edition of a Great Work
Every student should learn the two and three part inventions, but NOT from this edition. It is perhaps the worst edition ever published. The ornaments are incorrectly written out. The 14th invention is not even the original version. Bach would weep if he could see this version, which is totally...

Good preparation for the well tempered clavier
This is well known standard baroque literature for the developing pianist.Many who aspire to play bach's well tempered clavier will many times use this as a preparation to the wtc.I highly recommend this book to those who really want to get into bach's musical genius.

Absolutly spectacular!!!
two-and-three part inventions is wonderful! I love the stunningly accurate music that is in this book. I think that many players from around the world will love this brilliant music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
