Accurate Transcriptions in this Book!

Another great transcription by Wolf Marshall... if you buy a lot of gutiar tab books, look for the classics done by Wolf. As you'll see by Trilogy, he's one of the best. These are dead accurate representations of classic Yngwie (before his accident and before he started playing faster). I don't Remember I'll Never Forget has what I think the best Yngwie solo... and it's all transcribed for you. Just be prepared for a lot of practice if you attempt this one. A great buy if you love the album.

Trilogy

This is not my favorite Yngwie Malmsteen album (it would have been better if Soto had done the vocals), but the transcription of this album by Wolf Marshall (this book)is one that I recommend. This is the only transcription of an Yngwie album that offers a brief breakdown of Yngwie's style; it doesn't explain everything, but Marshall offers some insight into Malmsteen's compositions as well as giving good advice on how to approach studying Malmsteen. Though these books are in guitar tab (essential for the correct fingering and a real time-saver), knowing how to read the standard notation above the tab is highly recommended; very useful for dealing with Yngwie's time and key changes. Of course, there is no substitute for actually listening to the album while you are learning it!
