Good version of the Fugue portion

I don't like this version of the Toccata, but it is a great piano version of the Fugue. Some of the arrangement is odd, but it's easy to modify which hand plays the notes to make it easier to play without changing the notes that are played.

Superlative Piano Arrangement

This is NOT meant to be a faithful transcription. Instead, it is an arrangement for virtuoso piano players. Busoni's intent was to use the capabilities of the piano to re-create the effects of the organ. He succeeds spectacularly. You should attempt this piece only if you have mastered all elements of piano technique. If you can't competently play Chopin's and Liszt's etudes, don't even try.

Awesome scores !!

This edition is well written and has an impeccable printing. Bach's Toccatas are pure music.

Very Pleased

I've been wanting to play this piece for some time but was rather daunted at first be the appearance. But if you take the time to practice it isn't all that hard. I haven't gotten it to the point where I can play it fluently but I look forward to it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fuller sounding arrangement.

Superior arrangement

This Busoni arrangement is an expansion on the original organ version. While far more difficult that other versions, it successfully achieves a much more triumphant sound, as the piano does not have the sustaining or building power of the organ. If you're looking for a note-for-note transcription of the organ version, this is not it. But if you're looking for a jaw-dropping virtuoso performance piece, this is the one.

Yo Everybody!

When I first heard this music I thought it sounded great. It's also a real wake up if ya tired.I would say it best suits organs the most.It sounds scarier. The Person played it really loud too. I could even hear it all the way from Planet X.I think you should buy the edition by Bach and definitely not the one with a really bad arrngement.

Really...Really Bad Arrangement.

Please, take the people's advice who gave this just 1 star --because they're absolutely right. This edition is entirely a mess; just looking at the first page will give you a headache. Save your money, and buy another edition...trust me. It's just a shame to have such a beautiful song all butchered up.

Excellent Rendition

This is one of the tougher songs I have played, but it was worth the work. The way that the music is layed is absolutely fantastic once you learn how to play it. I have been playing the piano since I was 11, and this is the best piece I have ever played.

Bad arrangement

The voices are written on the wrong staves in this arrangement. Better ones are available.

Buy a different edition

It's no wonder people have reviewed this piece as virtually impossible. It's all in the way it has been presented. I've been playing it on the organ and on the piano since I was 13 & know it inside out. Actually it was this piece that brought me to the organ in the first place & the first piece I ever learned on it. So not as hard as you think. I haven't seen any more than the first page of this edition & won't ever bother. It's laid out all confusing. Buy the Peters edition. It's way better & if you ever get a chance to see the Novello organ copy you'll see how close the Peters one is in terms of presentation.

As tough as can be

"If you ever tried anything hard imagine something 10 times harder and you'll have this i mean if you can even play the first 2 pages without a mistake you're a miracle worker but it sounds awesome once you get it

Really Hard Piece

This is a beautiful piece for Organ or Piano, but it's REALLY HARD! I certainly can't play it. I would only recommend this piece to very advanced keyboardists who can stretch their fingers 11 notes.

The Ultimate Organ Piece

I believe that this piece is a beautiful display of what the organ can do and what kinds of thoughts were in Bach's mind as he wrote his music. It displays several feelings throughout its notes, all of which help people to better understand themselves
