1200 Song Fake Book
Great book! So many songs to choose from and so ez to learn with format. What I really like is that you do not have to turn pages during song and love the spiral binding. Highly recommend.

Great Resource
Of the songs I've tried, the chords are correct. A little impractical for a live situation because of its size, weight, and print size. I use it for putting the chords in Band-In-A-Box and playing along. Great resource.

my Bible
Contains everything from Dixieland to standards to recent hits. Great for combo work. I loaned my original and had to buy a replacement. Combined with the Bb book one can practically put togehter a big band

The Ultimate Fake Book
I am absolutely thrilled with this book. It is a good teaching tool in that the chords are varied and give much more interesting sound and quality to the music. The only problem I had is that the book is really too weighty, but no problem, I split it into 3 sections, so it is much more manageable - particularly as I have a keyboard on a stand, rather than a piano. Very pleased. Thank you!!!

Sooo much music
Sooo much music in one (heavy) place. Easy to read and make harmony, especially with a keyboard. Plastic binder not sufficient to hold all pages together - easy to pull pages and put in a 4" binder.

Hall Leonard 1200 songs Fake Book (volume 1)
I have this book since 1984. I use it - like many more fake books - almost every day. One remark: the undoubtly original chord notations could have been more "refined" to meet the actual requirements of more experienced musicians. Same remarks for the other Hall Leonard fake book (volume 2) containing another 800 compositions.

Truly the Ultimate Fake Book Containing the Best!
I was very pleased with the selections and also being in alphabetical order, according to song title. My only complaint about the book..It's just a little heavy for the music rack on most keyboards. The book would have met my total satisfaction if it were spirally bound. The book does not lay flat without bending it quite hard. Spirally bound books lay flat and are much easier to turn pages while playing the piece. Otherwise the book is fantastic.

better than I had expected or hoped for.
This gives me a lot of pleasure. I still have some difficulties with some songs which are primarily my unfamiliarity with the some of the lesser used chords. I am pleased with my purchases at Sheet Music Plus.

How many fakebooks one needs
I have now four comprehensive fake books, which I have bought in about five years intervals. The problem is, that most of them have many same pieces. When I got this new ultimake fake book with 1200 songs representing large scale of music I thought that after this book I don't need anymore. It takes a little time to get to play all these 1200 song. In short the best things about this book is the selection of songs from rock and roll to latin rythms and jazz and many more.

You'll want this in your personal library!
I would really recommend this book. It's quite accurate, it's great value for money, and anyone in need of decent (new?) repertoire should keep this handy. Works great for educational purposes as well. Maybe more of some main musical themes could have ben transcribed in the charts as well, but all in all, it's a great book to have!

Wonderful
This is a wonderful book. Full of music of yester-year and not so yester-year. I am enjoying it immensely. I would reccomend this to anyone interested in finding music between the year`s of 1910 to 2000. Thank you so much for making this available.

One of the Best Sheet Music Books You Can Buy
This book is essential in my music library. There are many of the older songs as well as songs from the modern era. Probably, the book I turn to the most when I want to look up a song

Ultimate Fake Book Creates Hours of Ultimate Fun
This book is fantastic. I play many styles of music and there is a wide variety here for all tastes. I have "the best fake book ever" and there is no duplication with that volume. One needs to know chord structure well to play this book. It is great to have each song on one page so that page turning is not needed. I play on a Yamaha CVP 309 and many of the Fake Book songs are in the instruments Music Finder. Worth every penny.

The Ultimate Fake Book - Review
An excellent value for anyone who remembers the "standards". I remember many years ago the only way you could purchase a similar book was from a guy in a trench-coat who approached you and said "Psst......Wanna buy a Fake Book?" For many years they were produced illegally on home duplicators. It's nice to see that Hal Leonard has arranged with the copyright holders and produced a terrific legal version.

What a Memory Jogger
What a fantastic buy. Every time I open it I find yet another number that's been buried deep in my 67year old memory banks. I formed a band back in the sixties and we continued to gig up to 1984. My wife bought an electronic keyboard as a retirement present, this coupled with the content of the book has given me a new lease of life. (I might even gig again)

understanding fake book
after having read the negative comments from "why" and " worst fake book ever", perhaps the writers did not have the experience of improvisation of music. This book gives the basic musical score and prompts the musician with the names of the cords so that the player will be able to play the music with his own improvisation and rhythm. Unless you can do that, the book is no good to the owner. This takes some experience and training to do so. I have playing the piano for the last 53 years and I find that the fake book could be very useful indeed. Although I have not owned it yet but from the the example shown in your cover and having owned some individual pieces given by friends, I would think this will give an immense number of musical pieces in one book. I play as a volunteer for a musical group to the old folks' homes weekly. This book will cover most of the pieces that the folks will request for during the concert time.I am going to buy this book soon.

Why?
Why did I purchase this book? I can't believe some of the crap they've got in here. I've never heard of most of the tunes in this thing. These days people aren't interested in learning jazz from the 50's. I'm a teenager, and I'm into playing things like Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, and Our Lady Peace. Don't bother with this piece of crap, I can't believe I wasted 50 bucks just to buy it. [...]

worst fake book ever
This book offers a terrible selection..as in Mama Look a BooBoo..what?? Is there anyone in the universe interested in this "song"?!! I have over 50 years experience playing as a professional musician and it's the worst fake book I've ever seen!..I ordered it online and I didn't know what the titles were or I would never have bought it in a million years..don't buy this piece of trash..

Older customer review
I did purchase this book- the only thing is that I can't read it The notes are very small!!! and I am not as young as I used to be- I do wear glasses, but they are not good enough to reas this music. It would really be great if Mr. Leonard would publish a book like this , aith just a bit bigger print- Thanks, Kriket McCarthy

Really comprehensive
This book really has something to offer everyone regardless of of your skill level. I've been playing music for several years and still find songs in this book I've never heard before. You can't go wrong with this and it's well worth the price.
