The Sound of...the Accompaniment?

Just picked up my horn again after a 20 year (yikes!) hiatus. Don't know if 'play along' books really existed back when I was I was in school, so I was excited by the concept. I have to say that I was a little disappointed in the accompaniment CD for this book. The melody 'cue' sounds like maybe a glockenspiel, and you have to turn down the right channel to remove it (which IMHO is kind of a pain). What remains after you remove the melody cue is kind of weak compared to some of the other accompaniment CD samples on this site. I would have rather paid a little more money to have two tracks per song: one track with a trombone soloist and a second track (the 'play along') without the trombone soloist.
