A fun and useful piece

This is an audience-pleaser. Clever writing, familiar tune, nice instrumentation. It provides a certain degree of challenge, especially for the bassoonist, and the chromatic passagework requires capable instrumentalists all around, but it is a piece that sets up relatively quickly for the ensemble.

Fun to play

I recently purchased this quintet in mind that the students involved would enjoy it, and they do very much. The bassoon part will have your middle school student working to keep the fingering correct, and the "triplet chromatics" (3/8 time) are fun to learn and makes the chromatic scale easiear...
