Melodies are carried by singer, not piano
This book is like the orchestrations, so the piano does NOT play the melody in most cases. Lily's Eyes and Secret Garden both are arranged such that if you don't have someone singing, the melody line is practically non-existent in the piano part. I use this version for accompaniment of singers, but for just playing without a singer I am seeking another version.

Appreciater
Book is beautiful, only complaint I have is that books of music are now stapled in the middle instead of the old binding style and that makes them difficult to open for playing from.

FINALLY
Finally, the public is given a vocal selection book where the piano arrangements resemble the orchestrations from the Broadway production. The music is beautiful on its own, but to have such wonderful accompaniments underneath beautiful vocal lines is a real treat.

Tis song book was very helpful for me with auditions. The musical has amazing songs and for a wide range of voices.
