One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard! My church singing duet partner and I are working on it now. It sounds "Catholic" which it probably is, since it originates from Italy. It's not so fitting for an evangelical Christian church service, but would probably by ok.

I went to our local sheet music store and they stated that the only copy of this song was in a different key which they then proceeded to download from the internet and charge me for. I knew I had seen this arrangement before, so I came home, searched sheetmusicplus.com, and found it immediately for a very reasonable price, including shipping. What a gorgeous song! This is perfect for graduation and wedding season. I thought the arrangement was ideal - simplified in parts to let the voices shine through. The Italian is beautiful, and even if you don't know the entire meaning, the echoing that is the traditional female part, hints at the "gist" of what is being said for most of the song. For those who felt misled by the key, I always take a "look inside" before I purchase online sheet music to verify the key myself. This key (F) is the EXACT one that Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli perform it in.

Not What I expected-WAY too easy!
I guess I missed something in it's review, but I didn't realize the duet was in Italian, with no English translation. The piano accompaniment was way too easy and simple for this beautiful song. It was very boring to play. The duet is also way too easy.I was very disappointed.

wonderful and touching
I was amaised at this peice of music. It's simple in a way and the chords,notes and the tones of this music are spectactular. You can get lost in this music and feel the inner thoughts that are in the music. Best peice of music I ever bought. You'll like it.I like the way the notes,chords and tones are put togather. Simple but rewarding.

lovely piece to play
I liked this arrangement of The Prayer, however it was in a key that was difficult to sing in for most singers. I would like to see it in a lower key. Celine Dion couldn't have sung it in this current key.

Learn Italian the singing way.
My voice teacher is teaching me this number. It is difficult to the max because of the very high tenor notes and I'm a Baratone.

For that special wedding.
This is a beautiful piece of music arranged for two people. It makes a perfect selection for a wedding ceremony. I especially enjoy this when it done by male and female vocalist. The range may be a bit of a challenge for the inexperienced vocalist.

Good Music needs English version.
The music is beautifully written and playable. However, some of the soprano part and most of the tenor part is written in Italian. Thus, this piece is a challenge for those of us not fluent in Italian.

Beautiful and Efective
This piece takes quite a bit of sustaining breath control, but is not that difficult technically. Our digital organ's harp and strings effect really added to its beauty.

A Great Song!
I was asked to perform this song for a wedding. I had not heard it before. It is a beautiful selection. I am very happy to have been exposed to it. I also very much appreciate the ease with which I was able to obtain a copy from SheetMusicPlus.

Beautiful music! I play this quite often. Not too difficult to play - I consider myself at the intermediate level and only had to practice it a couple of times to feel comfortable playing the piece. It sounds really lovely on the piano!

This is going to be one of my most favorite pieces

This is a beautiful piece of music written in a manner that is straight forward to play from sight. I've been playing for many years, but am "rusty" compared to really advanced pianists. I loved this arrangement.

This version of the song was exactly what I was looking for. I classify myself as an intermediate player with a long way to go!!! This was not too difficult so it did not defeat me, but had enough difficulty and notes that it was very pleasing to listeners and myself. In time, I will be able to improvise a bit, adding my own touch.

Beautiful piece
This piece is really beautiful. When I played it, I could imagine Celine Dion singing it. I don't think I would ever try to sing it simply because of the forgien language it contains. I'm sure someone else with language expertice would do a beautiful job with it. I will continue to play it.

Better than expected!
Usually when you buy a piece like this, it is a "singing version" that is less of a piano part than the melody of the vocalist's part. This piece was definitely at least close to the real version, and it sounds great! Perfect for a passionate piano student.

I have an arrangment of this song in my Josh Groban piano book. I like the sheet music arrangment that I just purchased. It sounds just as beautiful and is a little easier for me to play.

Not for the faint of heart
I did this as a solo for a wedding. Two issues: 1. As a solo, it has an extremely wide range. 2. Finding a translation of the Italian was a bit challenging, and the words (once translated) were not precisely appropriate in a wedding setting (more about justice than wedded bliss). I ended up singing it in Italian. Lovely song, nonetheless.

Moving....Stunning
I sang this at a benefit at my local community center for those displace by hurricane katrina, and the audience werent the only ones moved. this piece is stunning and moving, and is a great work for someone who wants to perform something memorable.

This is a wonderful arrangement! I played it at my son's wedding with 2 vocalists. Everyone loved it, many with tears in their eyes. It is my all time favorite piece of music!

Great Piece of Music!
My friend who plays sax and I did this as a duo at church recently. We took turns doing the theme(verse) and the other doing fill ins. In the bridge section we did a duet with the sax doing harmony, piano the melody. Since harmony was written in 3 parts in the music, it was very easy to find a good blend for the piano and sax duo. The ending we really punctuated with forte's, ad libs and the last 4 bars I did glissandos (on black keys - Gflat chord)on the piano and graduated to the chord changes while the sax held the melody note all the way through. We had so many compliments and it was very easy to play from our heart as the music was so beautiful!

Stunning
I am a self-taught pianist and have been playing for 2 years now. I had to wait 2 months for this piece to come in but it was well worth the wait! Not only is this piece a classic, beautiful and very expressive but it has that magic that we find so rarely in music anymore. David Foster and Carole Bayer Sager are geniuses! Highly recommended.

Absolutely Beautiful
I'm in high school and haven't had much real piano training, I learned how to play this song by looking at the notes and memorizing it. If I can do it with almost no training, so can you. It's so beautiful that it brings tears to the eyes of anyone who hears me play it and that I find myself not wanting to learn the rest because the first part is so beautiful now that i've learned it, I don't want to have to listen to myself pick out the other notes. The first three pages took me about a day to learn, about two weeks to perfect. Definitely worth your money.

Brings tears to your eyes
Im playing this piece in church on my flute with my mom on the piano and the two are so wonderful together...a beautiful match in harmony and Im sure this song will definantly be a tear-jerker on Sunday morning! I can't wait to share this song with everyone, Im used to playing hymes in church but this is definantly an awesome way to do something new especially when it's God inspired! YOU GO CELINE!

Burt Bacharach is a genius!!!
I have believed for years that Mr. Bacharach is a genius! The music accompanying this reinforces that belief. Bacharach's use of odd chord changes and the unique ways he gets into and out of minor chords is almost unprecedented;the endings are almost always unique.

im singing this song with one of my friends for our choir finals tomorrow (we're both freshmen in high school), and it's a GREAT PIECE. i can play most of the piano for it, and i have never taken lessons. it's a somewhat hard piece, but it is well worth it!

This piece is amazing!
I sang "The Prayer" for my eighth grade graduation, and it was incredible! This song is truly God-inspired. The two melodies and languages just fit together perfectly. It doesn't matter if you have a whole orchestra or just a piano accompanying you, the emotion generated from that piece is unbelievable. I totally recommend this song to anyone who loves to sing.

What a beautiful pice of music!
I bought this sheetmusic a year ago, and it took me a half year to learn it, because I'm just early intermediate. But it's so beautiful, and gives you back the original feeling. I think it's worth to buy and learn this piece, even if you're not at that level.

A Very Soul-Enriching Piece!
