The Phantom Of the Opera Vocal Selections
Okay. Here it is. The Phantom Vocal Selections. Bought it at the show. It was pretty easy. I'd like the arrangements to be a little more difficult. Especially the title song. This is a good challenge for beginners but unfortunately very easy for advanced players like myself. However, this book is very entertaining and a joy to play out of. I'm a huge fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber shows and love playing his tunes. if you are to buy this Music Book i'd recommend buying Evita Vocal Selections which can be bought at Sheet Music Plus and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ( Vocal Selections or Vocal Score). Also, Jesus Christ Superstar Vocal Selections which can not be bought here but at Amazon.com. The Phantom of the Opera is a great show. I would recommend buying this book but wish they would come out with the VOCAL SCORE to Phantom for a bit more of a challenge to advanced players. Have fun PHANTOM FANS!!!

more difficult level of "phantom"
I bought this for an adult intermediate student, but felt that it was too difficult due to the full chords and key changes. This is a very adequate version for capable players. No simplicity here. But too challenging for the casual player who is at less than late intermediate level.

Stunning
The Phantom of the Opera is my favorite musical--as such, I've loved learning the songs. So far, I can play The Music of the Night and All I Ask of You really well. I hope to learn the others and get them up to that level soon. Thank you Andrew Lloyd Webber for writing such beautiful music!

Love the music--can't stop playing!!!
This book of music is so delightful and wonderful to play! Obviously the music is superb--melodic, lyrical and so beautiful to play. I opened the book and ran right over to my piano to play and was totally in awe. Sir Andrew's music is not difficult to learn, but the pieces do require practice to get the phrasing, key signatures and timing correct. The best music I have bought in a very long time.

Phantom
I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She is in her third year of lessons. It's a challenge for her because practically nothing is written in a simiple key of C - lots of flats and sharps, but beautiful music --- it's just going to be a slow process learning and put it together. She will stick with it, though, just as she did with the Pirates of the Carribean music - worth the work.

The Phantom of the Opera
The edition that I purchased is exactly as in the movie. Playing it is like reliving the show. I have a keyboard rather than a piano so I am able to play the theme on the organ setting which makes it very dramatic & the rest of the music I play on the piano setting. I would highly recommed the complete movie edition. The music is challenging but worth taking the time to learn.

Phantom sings Again
The music itself is very good. Over all I think that because of all the flates and sharps involved it should be looked upon as more advance than just average player or even intermediate. The music selction in the book is great, covering all the major songs from the play. For those who are more advanced and can read music well...this is a great book....

Great book!
I have been playing about 2 years. This book is amazing. Some of the pieces are quite challenging, but others are attainable. The music is beautiful, with gorgeous harmonies. I have the more difficult pieces to look forward to when I advance!

Perfect choice
My 12 year old keeps selecting different songs from this book to play in her recitals. She loves this music so much we're going to see the Phantom of the Opera in January. You will absolutely love the selections in this book. I never get tired of hearing her practice.

Simply amazing
I got this book on my birthday, I was supposed to be going into intermediate piano but all the songs were way to easy for me so I got the solo book and I am still working on it after having it for nearly a year the songs are challenging but not to hard and the follow along the lines of the songs sung in the original play

MAgnificent
I got this book years ago, and I still enjoy playing this today. I have loved Phantom since I was 7. This book is not very difficult, but the songs are true to the actual sound on the CD. I only wish that the Overture and a couple of "filler songs" were included.

A little disappointing
I am a major Phantom of the Opera fan, and a fairly advanced piano player. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I went through this book. The transcription has everything in it to make it sound like the songs, but at the same time seems a little empty. Be ready to embellish and improvise on the chords given. All in all, if you're a fan of the musical, you will still enjoy this collection.

Makes you a better pianist
This selection of music really makes you practise. Because I loved the music before, I worked harder and was more determined to get the songs right. In the end, they sounded really impressive which was a wonderful, satisfying reward to me. This kind of skill music will really help the intermediate pianist to advance. P.S. A Kind note: To that review heading, thank goodness they don't learn how to spell out music > it's 'TOO Easy' NOT 'to easy'!!!!

Once in a lifetime opera!
i got this piano book when i went to the play at the boston opera house a good year and a half ago when i was 13. I learned to play the music sort of quickly, only because i was hooked to it. I recommend this piano book if you appreciate the music to "The Phantom of the Opera". It may be tough at first but it pays off when it sounds like you're actually at the play!

Best Music in the World
Just like the Phantom fell in love with Christine's voice before falling in love with Christine herself, I fell in love with this music before falling in love with the musical itself. Some of the songs are hard, particularly the ones in D-flat major, but it is worth every minute practicing.

Beautiful Music
This is a WONDERFUL book. I've been playing piano for 7.5 years, and this one is really fun for me to play. My friend Carlie sings the songs while I play them, and it sounds GORGEOUS! I ordered this book and I can't WAIT for it to come. At the moment I am borrowing my choir teacher's book. It's really worth getting. The Phantom of the Opera has some of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. And they're put in the right key, so that it's easy to play and sing but sounds just right. There's also an easier version of the P.O.T.O book for people who find this one too hard. It's about easy to intermediete level. But this one sounds great.:)

Incredible!!
Wow!! I love this book! The music from this broadway has always been a favorite with me, so when I found the sheetmusic, I was thrilled! It's just gorgeous and there are so many intense parts in the pieces! I would say it's challenging, yet not insanely difficult, and that's good for me, because I'm not that great at playing the piano, but I love a challenge and reading music is fun for me. You'll definitely find this music score is worth it and you'll love playing and singing to it! I know I do! It's exciting to play and sing what you've heard on one of the world's best broadway musicals! Have fun with this one! Enjoy!

THE BEST BOOK EVER!!!
Its true! I just love POTO and love playing the piano! I play out of this book almost every day! I've only been playing for about 3 years and I can still play it! (Well at least the vocal part and the bass clef!) Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius! My favorite song is The Phantom of the Opera. And the hardest song in my opinion is Masquerde. This book is probably best for people with 4 or more years experiene but less experienced people (like myself) can still play it pretty well.

This book is really great for "Phantom" lovers. The only thing I dislike is that it is the old edition; the new one, from the movie by Joel Schmaucher, has different lyrics in selected parts. Otherwise, this is great!

I am a seasoned pianist who's a little rusty. Okay, I open this book and the theme itself just blew me away. I worked a month and perfected the theme. This is a challenge to lvl.3 students and becomes easier as you move on. It is very accurate and the music is absolutely beautiful. I recommend this with my whole heart.

You Will Fall in Love With it!!
I have played piano for 5 yrs. and this music was around my level. I bought this book before I watched the movie because I had enjoyed playing "The Music of the Night" from a piano duet book. (This version is from the original cast, not the movie.) When I watched The Phantom of the Opera movie, I fell completely in love with it. So I went back and played/sang through the whole book. The Phantom is elegant, romantic, haunting, and captivating which is why the music is totally worth trying!

The Best Music Ever Written
If you adored the Broadway version of this fantastic musical, then the music in this book will make you love it 100 times more. Some pieces are challenging, but playing them, and feeling the mood each song carries with it, is worth all of the minor trouble. I have been listening to Phantom since I was five. It has become my favorite musical and this book is far from a disappointment. The songs range from the beautiful "Music of the Night" to the intense "The Point of no Return." Most of these pieces aren't too tricky but there are still challenges to be found in the book. Mysterious and powerful; it's music like this that keeps the piano alive in today's culture. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius!

Phantom of the Opera is one of the most varied shows on broadway ,and the score provided in this book really reflects the original thing..something hard to come across in today's world. Excellent. extremely accurate to score
Having lived in Toronto Canada where the longest running show of the Phantom was, I have seen it more then 5 times not including the 2 times on broadway. I know what the music sounds like. This book is extremely accurate to the play and is a great arrangement. I would recomend this book over any other phantom book for piano. This book is written for late intermediate pianists.

Phantom is phantastic! I absolutely adore all the songs in the musical and it reminds me of all the diverse and entrancing characters in the musical. Phantom is Triumphant!

Fantastic
Great - as you can play along with the cd, whilst not having to overload your brain with too hard a music to play. I wish there was a full score of the phantom of the opera, as I love the music so much. It is really haunting, Andrew Lloyd Webber did a great job. x

Phantom is Great
The music and lyrics for this are very haunting. I love listening to the music and now I am enjoying playing it on the piano.

Very enjoyable........easy to play. I love putting on my cast recording CD and playing along with it. Great pretending to be a part of the orchestra!!

Phantom Sweeps for the Top
These songs and music are beautiful to play on the piano and sing. It was really worth getting and when you have friends come over, you can play a nice song that everyone had heard before! I recommend this book to all who love to play music! Thanx!
