As an adult learner in a community band, playing 'The Olympic Spirit' is incredibly exciting! John Williams' music is so uplifting, and this Grade 4 arrangement by James Curnow really captures the original's grandeur. It's challenging but very rewarding to be part of bringing such a recognizable and inspiring 'TV/Movie' theme to life. Highly recommend for enjoyment!

I bought this piece as one of my trumpeters requested it; I hadn't really heard it before, but as we have started to rehearse it, it made me feel that it could be for any occasion, not just sporting/Olympic competitions. John Williams's music always conjures up majestic images, none more so in this piece - it's a bit repetitive, but the arrangement is absolutely rock solid and all groups should enjoy its challenges. The audience will love it, too, and although not as instantly recognisable as his 'Olympic Fanfare and Theme', this is a great addition to the repertoire, in either concert or outdoor performance.
