The Moldau by Bedrich Smetana (1824-1884). Edited by du Cheyron. Flute Ensemble. For 4 flutes. Sheet Music. Published by Zimmermann (PE.ZM31480).

ISBN M-010-31480-8.

The Moldau is Smetana's most famous and most popular composition. The adaptation presented here is restricted to the essential contrasting motifs. On account of the original arrangement for flutes, the beginning takes up a lot of space as it symbolizes ho w the two rivers rise and meet. Many flutists who love the piece but do not have the chance to play it in an orchestra even once will benefit from the possibility of a chamber music edition. It is of intermediate difficulty and also well-suited as an enco re.

Good piece, but hard for player

It is often arranging a famous melody, and it's easy to match, but it'll be spout packing for a player, so work hard on the played side.

Moldau

A favorite classic loved by all! Performances with quartets and flute choirs. Lower technically challenging parts can be split. Upper parts are beautifully melodic but technically easier. Great arrangement.

Very nice, but will take some work

This is a beautiful, familiar melody. It will take some work to get the runs coordinated, but it will be beautiful.
