Really Great Book!
I bought this book several years ago, and I have loved it. Since I was a novice alto saxophone player, I thought that I could play it without having to transpose it. I recently transposed one of the pieces and it fit perfectly with the soundtrack that I also have. I great buy!

Lord of The Rings Lover
I love the movies, an dI love the books, and the music really sounds so complex on the screen, and I can just play it at home, and it sounds just as good. It sounds so complicated, but after a little time I was able to play most of it. I haven't taken piano lessons for three years, and It was really easy to pick out. It sounds really cool, and I love it.

The King Has Returned!!!
I love this music book!!! It is my favourite out of the 3 Piano/Vocals/Chords books for LOTR. What I like best about this book is that it includes everyone's themes. My favourite pieces in this book are "Into the West" and "The Return of the King" closely followed by "The Steward of Gondor". I play these songs on 3 different instruments (Piano, Guitar, and Tin Whistle) and enjoy them every time I play them!! I have only one thing I would change about it. I would replace "Use Well the Days" with "The Grey Havens". I can't understand why the song "Use Well the Days" is even in this book as no one knows it and you can only hear it if you buy a particular edition of TROTK soundtrack that comes with a DVD that has the song on it!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this book to any LOTR movies/soundtrack fan. It's Awesome!!!!!

Very Dissappointing
I was very dissappointed by this book. I think it was poorly arranged for piano. In general, these are songs that need to be played by an orchestra in order to sound right. Piano is not capable of giving the right effect.

A great final addition to Shore's LOTR masterpiece
Although more difficult than the previous LOTR pieces, this one has more themes and over all more music than the others. Again, it is a great buy for the LOTR fan.

Beautiful Music for fans and everyone!
I have been playing the piano for close to a year now. I am probably the biggest LOTR fan I know, and I was sooo happy to get the music. Some of the pieces were kind of hard to me since I havn't played too long, but its so much more fun to have a challenge. This is beautiful music and very pretty to play for enjoyment and sing to. Although some of the songs ARE missing from the soundtrack, the ones in the book make up for it. -The best of the three books!!

Best Book of the Trilogy!
This is by far the best book of the 3 of them. The songs are hard but playable for a beginner or early intermediate. I'm not very good, but I think there is not one song that I can't play the majority of. It's a wonderful book! Except the lyrics for Twilight and Shadow are wrong...

BRILLIANT, But a Bit Disappointing
I loved the soundtrack of The Lord the Rings-The Return of the King, but when I got the sheetmusic a few of the awesome songs weren't there. The songs in it are very pretty (like Twilight and Shadow and the Return of the King),not too difficult to play, and sound a lot like the soundtrack. Overall, it is awesome sheetmusic!!!! It deserves the 5 stars.

Great, but too easy
Great Book, it sounds really cool when you get someone to sing the vocals. However, I've been playing piano for 8 years and this book doesn't present much in terms if an advanced arrangement. Still, it's a great book for just messing around on the piano.

Even Better than I Expected!
This is my first LOTR book, and I was really impressed by how well the music translated onto piano. The songs in this book are exactly as they were in the soundtrack. I loved being able to play the entire 10-minute "Return of the King" song! You may not recognize the song "Use Well the Days"; this is because it's an all-new Annie Lennox song that wasn't in the movie or soundtrack!! I especially enjoyed figuring out that song by myself. A must for anyone who enjoyed the soundtrack!

Great for flutes
This book is one I love playing on my flute in my spare time. I have had hard times finding solo books for flute that I want, so I refer to piano. The songs are somewhat easy but not recommended for beginners

I LOVED IT
I thought this book was wonderful. I have been playing piano for a little over 5 years ,and this is the best music I have ever played. The only thing I had a problem with was the song "Into the West" has only the accompainment ,but if you play the chords letters indicated it sounds just as beautiful.Overall everything sounded just like the movie.I recommend it to anyone.

absolutely fantastic
Howard Shore's done it again! The music reminds me of the movies--each one gets better as it comes! I especially liked 'Twilight & Shadow' and 'Into the West'. A must for any musician who loves LOTR.

Nice Music, but slightly easy
This music was vey nice. I just got it and I am starting to learn it. It has nicely written themes, but I thought that they were just a bit too easy. I have been playing piano for 7 years and it seemed like this was not much of a challenge. I hope that [they] will get some more difficult arrangements for the L0ord of the Rings music. Overall, though, I was very impressed. It leaves some to be desired, but that means that you can aalso have fun addung your own things to it. Now, I hope that I have not discouraged you from buying it. This is only my opionion and I tend to be this way about a lot of music. If you are a well-practiced and fairly fluent late beginner to early intermediate player, than I would recommend this music to you. If you are someone who likes making your own arrangements for music, this is also very good. Happy Playing!

WHOA!!!
This has to be some of the best music ever written. Howard Shores is truly a great artist. I love this kind of music. If you like this you should try playing Apollo 13. Also a great masterpeice done by James Horner. Don't try this if you are just starting to play the piano.

Spell Binding!!
Howard Shore is one of the most brilliant composers ever! His music is absolutely gorgeous and coveys a yearning feeling in the pieces. I play his pieces every day and i always am in complete awe. My one critique is that i feel his music could've conveyed more darkness and melancholy that was brought out in the books. Especially in The Return of the King. Overall, his music is absolutely mesmorizing.

Nice
Howard Shore is amazing the music from the book is straight out of the movie. The big disappointment I had, though, with this book is that Into the West is just the accompaniment to the song, but with a little adjustment I'm sure anyone could pick up the melody. Also the songs tend to be on the easy side. I have been playing piano for 13 years and if anyone is looking for it to be complicated it can be at first, but once you get the hang of it, i'ts fairly simple to play.

Yay.
Well, I learned piano with this book, and its just amazing it really is. It is worth the money, especially if you know the music on the sountracjs as well as I do. Watch out for the End of All Things though, the first half is a toughie.

Beautiful & Awe Inspiring
This book is by far the best of them all. Just playing the songs itself transports you to Middle-earth. You will fall in love with it from the very first time you play.

HOLLYWOOD HAS DONE IT AGAIN!
With every great movie is great music. Learning how to play this music was challenging but definatly worth the time and effort. To be able to sit down and just play the empowering music from this spectacular music in front of all your friends is a great feeling. Not only have i impressed them with my development in my piano skills but i convinced a friend to go and by the book himself. When you sit down and just play the music, you are glued to your seat and in the mood to watch all the movies as well! Not a book to be missed...worth EVERY PENNY!

Breathtaking!!!!
This is the best music book of the three. The songs seem to pull the emotion strait from the movie and book. The songs are beautiful and heartbreaking. I recomend this book to Tolkien fans and to anyone who appreciates great music.

I love it!
I really liked this music, it had lots of the themes, so I could play more of what I love. One thing I would really like to see would be a more complicated version of some of the songs(The Edge of Night and Into the West espescially), the music wasn't very hard and I think you could add a lot too it. Anyway, I love the music book, and I would highly recommend it, it's much more for your money than previous books.

WOW!
I just got done playing through the book for the first time! I'm impressed. These songs are straight from the soundtrack! Still missing the Isengard theme, but the long awaited Hobbit theme is in here... finally!! Perfectly mixes new themes and old themes together. I highly recommend this to any LOTR fan!!

~*~HOLLA!!!!!~*~
Howard Shore and Fran Walsh did a fantastic job composing all these songs for all three movies. the music is bangin, even though i play the clarinet and had to alter somethings from the music it sounded a lot like the movie. it was almost as if i were there in the movie scenes with all the characters and actually going on the adventures with them. THIS MUSIC WAS HOTT!!!

This edition is terrific!
If you're like me and you buy a lot of film score piano reductions you probably find yourself frustrated that oftentimes a piece of music from the recording is edited in the sheet music version so that serious chunks of music are missing. Not so here! These are complete cues from the soundtrack album (Even "The Return of the King" which runs over ten minutes!). Needless to say I am thoroughly impressed! This is great to play through or to sit and read along with the CD. Kudos to those at Warner Bros. publishing. Other publishers should take note. This is how piano reductions of music from film scores SHOULD be!
