Author Jack Reilly is a pianist, composer and educator in both the jazz and classical genres. He has chaired the Jazz Studies departments of the New England Conservatory of Music, Mannes College of Music, and The New School. He is presently Jazz Piano Professor at Rowan College in New Jersey.

Beautiful for entering the world of Bill Evans and for composing procedure opening a vast field for improvisation. Thank you very very much Mr Reilly, adding a new stone to the path opened (may be) by John Mehegan almost 45 years ago. Alain Pinsolle Vibraphone and Piano player.

not a transcription

As far as I can make out, this book is an analysis of Bill Evans' harmonies, not a transcription of what he actually played on a recording. I wanted the latter because I am not so good at duplicating what I hear on the recording. (I'm not a professional musician.)...
