Beautiful
My community chorale loves this piece, as I knew they would. It gives our musician a chance to shine and the voice parts are easy and graceful. Nice to find something fresh for our Christmas concerts.

First Noel/pachelbel's canon
A beautiful alternative to a traditional Christmas Carole.

Heavenly Piece
I had the priviledge of singing "The First Noel / Pachelbel's Canon" in a SAT trio many years ago, and I've never forgotten the heart-stirring beauty of this wonderful arrangement.

perfect for church christmas service
Our church choir performed this today--absolutely lovely. Mixed ability, 16-18 members, a few weeks to learn, one pianist, one organist--yes, 16th notes were doable! Piano/organ was nice combination. Only problem: choir gets mesmerized by the beauty of the first several measures of the canon and forgets to come in!

Absolutely Beatiful Piece!
I directed a choir of about 30-40 people singing this piece, and it was absolutely amazing. We had two boys (ages 11 and 13) play the violin part, and I can't explain how beautifully it came together. It was the highlight of the entire evening.

Love it!
I love this arrangement- 2 favorites combined beautifully, just as the other reviews I read had said. I was also able to get our essentially beginner choir singing it in less than 2 rehearsals.

Always a Favorite
This piece is fairly easy to play on the organ and was great to have a keyboard play along in a different key. Next year plan on adding a flute and cello and the choir. We used it as a solo piece and it worked fine.

Gorgeous!
I love this song! It combines traditional Christmas with classical music. It is challenging enough to keep most singers entertained, but simple enough for a basic church choir to learn in 6 - 8 weeks.

Easy and sounds beautiful
Great for a choir with mixed ability. Easier with some strong sopranos.

Christmas Choir Centerpiece
Lovely for the huge celebrations and the quiet worship services. We'll get lots of mileage out of this one.

EXCELLENT!!!!
What an excellent pairing of "Canon in D" and "The First Noel!" Our music director purchased the booklets, and I did it as solo piece (instead of a duet- we just jumped up/down depending on where the best melody line is..they change, and it's fun). Many people who heard it said it was the loveliest carol they ever heard, and it was so pretty it gave them "goose bumps!" I'm an Alto, and the high notes-even on the soprano lines- were easy. Chances are, it reminded some listeners of their wedding day? HA Anyway, kudos to Clawson for the ultimate pairing of 2 different songs that were just meant to be united! I have to add Clawson to my "favorite arrangers" list. Rutter may have some serious comepetition here! :-)
