Lovely arrangements
These are some lovely straight-forward arrangements to Christmas songs that any reasonably accomplished singer will enjoy. And any competent pianist should be able to play easily. What is so refreshing is the inclusion of some little-known, but very beautiful, carols. Thank you. These are always so welcome.

Not Everything I Expected
I bought this book because I have a classical style voice and I was looking for a book of Christmas songs to perform at church over the next few years. I liked the idea of having a few lesser-known Christmas songs to build into my repertoire, and the German songs fit the bill. And since finding an accompanist at my church can be difficult, I really liked that the book came with an accompaniment CD. For this year I was looking for a standard carol, so I was very disappointed at the accompaniment for "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Silent Night." They were both incredibly dissonant and not at all the peaceful, reverent arrangements I was expecting. I can definitely say I will not sing either in church. However, I was pleased with the German songs and the accompaniment for O Holy Night. So overall, this songbook left something to be desired, but was not a complete bust
