      Wonderful trnascriptions

      Gerald Garcia on his Brazilian Portraits album played some of the Brian Hodel transcriptions in this book. They are outstanding. Listen to the album , then try the transcription in this book. They are not Latin jazz per se, but they have such a wonderful classical + latin sway that...

      Great music, great price

      I've been working with this book for a couple of months and find it consistently challenging with authentic arrangements. If you look at Charlie Byrd's arrangements of Jobim (also a good idea) you can see how this music has more Brazilian, non-Jazz feel to it.

      Simply the Best !

      Tom Jobin's music is only for people with a very good education. His music is divine.The best Brazilian music made by a man who really loved Brazil,the US, poetry and MUSIC.

      Thought it was Captain Beefheart tunes..

      This is so silly....no brazilian would offer any thought of playing this stuff! Why not go to the masters if you really want ot learn?
