good ol' book
I think that it's relatively easy to make music happen with a pitched instrument. You give three notes and already you have a story. But to conjure single sound patterns into music is a lesson of a different sort. And this is an excellent material to learn exactly this magic. Solos in this book, although excellent for learning individual rudiments, are at the same time all pure music. Kind of like a two-in-one thing. Or perhaps more like all in one. ;) It's a great book and I'm happy to learn from it. I am a professional drummer and I also teach drumming

Very good rudimental book
This book was referred to me by my studio instructor. It is a great book to work through rudimental based solos. This is a beneficial book for percussionists of all levels.

the beginning and the ending
this book is the foundation of a true understanding of stick control, muscle development, and timing. with the right instructor a beginning percussion student can excel in rudementary drumming. power, speed and accuracy are required to master these excellent excercises. a must for high school and college level snare drumming.
