      A Most Satisfactory Transcription

      These pieces offer a range of technical challenges, but those challenges are manageable through diligence and care. Once learned, the pieces offer great intellectual and emotional satisfaction. Some transcriptions of J.S.Bach works promise fulfillment but ultimately disappoint. These do not. Kempff has done an excellent job.

      Some of the best of Bach piano transcriptions

      I heard a piano transcription of Wachet Auf on the radio one day, and my search ended up with this book of 10 of Bach's non-keyboard works transcribed for piano. These are beautiful arrangements, not overly complicated and very satisfying to play. Highly recommended, especially at this nice price.
