Suzuki Rocks

I've been playing Suzuki almost my whole life, and I can't even imagine what changing learning methods would be life. I live by Suzuki.

Hard But Fun

Suzuki Book 4 is quite a leap after book 3. You learn how to shift positions from 2nd all of the way to 4th. The songs are hard at times but once you learn them, it is really fun and very beautiful. Right now, I'm on book 4 working on Concerto in A Minor, Op. 3, No. 6, 3rd mvt. The 3rd solo is a challenge but it's pretty.

NO!

This is torture for the violin student!!! Do not make your kids learn from this series!!!!!!!!!! Try the Celebration Series for violin, or the Strictly Strings collection.

A nice follow-up to Suzuki level 3

As a violin teacher and piano accompanist, I would say this book is definitely challenging, but rewarding for the student. Second and third positions are introduced in this level. The pieces are beautiful. Some of my favorites: Concerto No. 2, 3rd movement/Seitz, Concerto No. 5, 3rd movement/Seitz, Concerto in A minor, 3rd movement/Vivaldi.

Excellent Teaching material

I've been playing the violin for about a year and a half, and have used "The Suzuki Method" since I first started. I have to say, book IV is the best so far! : ) Vivaldi's Concerto in A Minor [1st movment] is so beautiful. The notes blend togeather to form an undiscribable, heart- breaking plead. Especially the first few measures. You HAVE to buy this book and play this song with extra vibrato, in a high-ceilinged room!!! It will change your life forever to play this beautiful song. Overall, the book is not too hard, and I highly recommend this series of books for EVERY teacher. It provides a beautiful selection of songs for the student as well.

Beatiful and Enjoyable

The music in here was outstanding, and hard too. If a intermediate player is well taught, they can mack it sound just as beatiful if it were a professional!
