This is not a solo to be thrown in the trash - its a very effective learning tool. Its writing is characteristic of Wilder's other brass compositions and we are lucky to have had someone so creative write for tuba (and horn) frequently. "Effie" actually stands for "F" and "E"....

Warning: Bumpy road ahead!
After seeing the music, I know what Effie really stands for: Extra Formidable Facility Is Enforced. So many notes! So little time! It might take me a year (or more) of practice to get there, but this is certainly going to test my chops as a tubist. Get it if...

This piece of trash sucks
