A charming three movement work. Similar technical level for both instruments. Not as difficult as the viola/harp Fantasy Sonata. An effective work for this instrumental combination.

A rewarding piece but awkward page turns

Bax's Sonata is technically challenging for the intermediate flute player, and may even present some technical difficulties for the advanced player. The challenge is more in the lower range (you need a strong pinkie in part III). But generally, the strong melodic lines make this a very rewarding piece. Page...
