Sonatina in G Major by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). Edited by Willard A. Palmer. For Piano. Masterworks; Piano Solo; Solo. Alfred Masterwork Edition. Form: Sonatina. Classical; Masterwork; Romantic. Intermediate. 8 pages. Published by Alfred Music Publishing (AP.2149).

ISBN 0739028421. Classical; Masterwork; Romantic.

Along with Clementi's C Major Sonatina, this famous piece by Beethoven, in G Major, will likely qualify as one of the student's first Sonatinas as they venture into longer classical forms. Included are biographical notes, performance instructions which include an explanation of "Beethoven's Legato" and his use of staccato, and there are editorial additions in gray print.

Beethoven Sonatina in G Major

This was the perfect piece I was looking for. It also contained an explanation of Beethoven's interpretation of the 'legato', and bit of history. I would certainly recommend it for a fun sight reading project or just an enjoyable piece to learn.
