Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata

A great sonata -- romantic, energetic, very rewarding. Pianists with enough technique should definitely get to know it. It would be a disappointment to be approached about playing it and not have it in one’s repertoire or at least have some acquaintance with it!

2nd piano concerto with cello obligato

My cellist named this the 2nd piano concerto with cello obligato. He'd rather play something else. From the pianist view: This piece does have a lot in common with the 2nd piano concerto. All the beauty too. It is a major workout for the pianist.
