Joy to play

Originally written for flute, the Sonata in D Major (1942/43) is even better as Prokofiev arranged it for violin. For both violinist and pianist, this is a deeply satisfying piece of early 20th century music using plenty of accidentals to express a wide range of feeling over a firm tonal...
