A great Hindemith Sonata.
One of Hindemith's greatest sonatas for the solo viola. Incredibly challenging at moments, but a great piece for someone in college to tackle. Be especially carefully with Movement IV, with a metronome marking of quarter note = 600 to 640!

A unique peice for a great instrument
Hindemith's viola sonata No1 is something you should consider playing if you want to stand out from the crowd of normal soloists. It has one of the most interesting movements that I have ever encountered. This movement titled "wild" it presents uncharted territory that I have enjoyed tackling greatly. Each movement has given me motive to continue moving through. This would be one of my alltime favorite viola sonata's.
