piano masterpiece, critical ed may be improved
An incredible Piano masterpiece of early XXth century. The printing is very clear. However the edition could be improved by including (in foot notes) occasional variants, clearly audibles in available concert recordings.

truly transcendent
this is not only one of the greatest pieces by an american, it is one of the greatest works for solo piano ever written. from the dramatic opening of "emerson" to the quiet end of "thoreau", the concord sonata is transfixing and ultimately rewarding in every sense of the word....
