Challenging but fun!
This piece is amazingly fun. Not only for the listener but for the player. This piece in my opinion is perfect for solo competitions because it is well within most standard time limits and the piece takes you though a wide range of challenges from articulation to lyricall interpretation. Id never studied this piece before this year. But I enjoyed working it up and even those with a less experienced ear can appreciate the pieces challenges.

Only two years and you played this?
I'm guessing the person who played this in their second year on clarinet played another instrument previously...at least I HOPE so. I found the piece a challenge in my 8th year of playing seriously. It was wonderful, and the crowd enjoyed it too, I hope! :)

Wonderful
I am in my second year of playing clarinet and I have just completed this piece for a recital. It really is not incredibly hard, with just brief moments of difficulty that you work past with practice. I absolutely love the cadenza at the beginning-it was the reason I orginally bought the piece, after seeing only the first page.

A must for clarinet players
This piece is fantastic competition piece (that is what it was intended for!) and very playable. I will be suitable for any serious clarinet player of grade 8 and up. Piano part is simple for the average player with only a few tricky moments. Buy it now!

After 6 years?
You've only been playing clarinet for 6 years and you've already played the Messager Solo De Concours? It's one of the pieces I played on my University Graduation recital. It's a very difficult, virtuostic piece. This piece is NOT easy.

Wonderful solo!
I have been playing clarinet for about 6 years. This piece offered a challenge, but one that could be overcome. I just love this piece! I would recommend it to any serious clarinetist.
