Eugene Ysaye: Six Sonates pour Violon Seul, Op. 27
This is a wonderful and understated collection of beautiful, virtuosic solo pieces for any avid violinist.

Misprints
There are a fair number of misprints in this edition (wrong notes & wrong rhythms). For a while this was the only edition available of the Solo Sonatas but now there is a relatively new Henle edition which is better. Misprints have been fixed and it has also been designed with fold-out pages to minimize page turns. Go for the Henle instead.

The Good Stuff
I love Yasye's music. He was an excelent violinist and you can tell by just peaking at his music. This stuff is very difficult for me to play, but I will someday soon master it.

Absolutely rewarding
These sonatas are some of the most challenging pieces for the violin. However, Ysaye wrote them in a very comfortable way because he himself was a tremendous violinist. A must in any professional violinist's repetoire!
