Shepherd's Joy (A Celtic Christmas Celebration) by Mark Hayes. Choir Sacred. SATB choir. Choral (Sacred); Choral Octavo; Worship Resources. Christmas; Sacred; Winter. Grade 4. Choral Octavo. 16 pages. Published by Alfred Music Publishing (AP.21593).

Mark Hayes and John Parker have combined their considerable talents to create a unique and spirited Christmas choral with a Celtic flavor. Modal harmonies and driving keyboard accompaniment enhance the excitement. Unison and 2-part voices tell the story, while full choir sings the refrain, "Gloria! Glory be to God on high!" Additional parts for recorder and violin alone, or with bass, drums and synthesizer, and a full performance/accompaniment CD, are available separately. Wonderful for both school holiday concerts and Christmas worship!
Inst. Parts Available (choral); Recorded Acc. Available.

Wonderful song

We did this for Christmas, and the choir and congregation loved it! With a good pianist (who is really good, and keeps the accomp. moving quickly) it is really fun to perform. The dymanics are very important to the impact of the song. We loved it!

Moving, Expressive, Impactive

I bought this piece a couple of years ago, and this past Christmas the choir requested that we sing it again, they loved it so much. The piece moves on it's own, and the dynamic markings and the build in phrasing adds to the momentum of the piece.
